Reading the numbers

Coinbase Exchange's published base taker fee (0.60%) is lower than Kraken Pro's (0.80%), but the Exchange is Coinbase's active-trader platform; the fee a retail user sees on a simple sell appears only at order preview. Kraken publishes its one-click sell as 1% plus a variable spread. Both offer free ACH withdrawal of USD; wire costs differ (Kraken $4 FedWire, Coinbase $25). What is cheaper for you depends on the product you actually use, your asset, amount and tier - run your own amount on the US comparison.
